Alternative Provision (AP) in the UK has undergone a remarkable transformation. What began as a system largely focused on managing excluded pupils in Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) has developed into a diverse network of support for children facing complex behavioural, medical, or social challenges. Today, AP plays a vital role in the educational landscape, serving thousands of young people every year, something Bonterre is proud to work as a part of.

Over the past 18 months, thanks to generous funding from the National Lottery Community Fund’s Awards for All programme, we have been able to run a fantastic new programme of holiday activities for families in our community.

Thanks to generous support from Tesco Stronger Starts and Sainsbury’s Good Food Grants Programme, we’ve been able to bring more cookery activities directly into our alternative education programme this year.

We are incredibly grateful to the Oakland Foundation for partnering with us in support of our ‘Grow to Eat’ programme. Their funding has allowed us to offer this incredible opportunity to local schools, supporting children who benefit from a different kind of learning environment outside of the classroom.
