Specialist Person-Centred Tutor
Transformational education for children who need something different

I don’t believe in fitting children into systems. I believe in building systems around the child.
I am Hayley and I am Bonterre’s Tutor. I am a fully qualified teacher (PGCE) with 13 years of experience across Birmingham and Worcestershire schools. My career has evolved from curriculum leadership into my true specialism: Special Educational Needs, Disabilities, and Mental Wellbeing.
Today, I offer something far beyond traditional tutoring.
Teaching Approach
I combine qualified teaching expertise, trauma-informed practice and purposeful outdoor learning to create deeply personalised education that rebuilds confidence, resilience, and academic success.
This is bespoke, therapeutic education designed for long-term transformation.

What Makes My Approach Different?
- Bespoke, Person-Centred Curriculum
Every learning programme is designed around the child’s strengths, interests, needs, and aspirations. No off-the-shelf plans. No rigid frameworks. - Therapeutic, Emotionally Safe Learning
Children cannot learn effectively if they do not feel safe. I integrate emotional regulation strategies, resilience-building, and confidence development into every session. - Purposeful Outdoor & Experiential Education
Children thrive in the physical and natural world. Structured outdoor learning combined with clear academic outcomes re-engages curiosity, motivation, and joy.
The Outcome
Children who may feel anxious, disengaged, or misunderstood begin to:
- Rebuild self-belief
- Develop resilience
- Take healthy risks in learning
- Achieve meaningful academic progress
- Recognise their unique talents and gifts
I am not simply a tutor. I am an advocate, a mentor, and a consistent, calm presence who champions each child toward a purposeful place in society.
