Occupational Therapy at Bonterre

Helping children thrive through nature, creativity, and connection.

Meet Emma Nokes (Em) – Bonterre’s Occupational Therapist.

Em is passionate about helping children and young people (from 5 – 18 years old) discover their strengths, overcome challenges, and thrive in everyday life.

With over twenty years’ experience working with children in education and youth work, and as an HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist (MSc OT, RCOT, PGCE, BA Hons), Em brings a wealth of understanding, compassion, and creativity to her practice.

What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational Therapy (OT) helps children and young people do the everyday things that matter most – from learning and playing to building confidence and independence.

By getting to know each child’s interests, strengths, and challenges, Em supports them to develop the skills they need through assessment, goal setting, and practical, hands-on activities.

Em’s approach is inclusive, person-centred, and deeply rooted in connection, trust, and creativity.
Every child is seen as an individual, and therapy is tailored to what works best for them – whether that’s in the classroom, at home, or outdoors at Bonterre.
