Bonterre Families Programme

Supported by the National Lottery Community Fund

Bonterre are running a programme to provide holiday and evening activities to families in the local community!

Our families programme is aimed at supporting families of children with additional needs, those with family members with long term health conditions and disabilities and those on low incomes. Our aim is to provide additional support for those facing challenging circumstances in their lives, by running activity sessions, social opportunities and visit days, guided by our fantastic team.

These events give families the chance to get outdoors in the countryside, connect with other families in similar situations and try some new experiences together on the farm.

We do still have funded visit day places available for organisations working with families in the local area. Please get in touch to find out more about arranging a group event with us in 2025!

Family Social Evenings

Join us on Thursday evenings in July, 5 – 7pm

Throughout July, we’ll be opening the farm to parents, carers and local families on Thursday evenings.

We frequently hear that parents of children with additional needs are often unable to find any time for themselves; to relax, socialise or try some new experiences because of their child’s needs. We believe that community groups and activities are key in addressing this problem, helping to bring people together and improving social and support connections.

We’ll be hosting a very informal drop-in session each week on the farm – come and have a chat, a cup of tea and meet up with other parents in the local community.

Children are welcome, we’ll have some activities for the whole family, or our experienced team can keep the kids entertained while the adults can take some time to socialise. Our aim is to provide a space where parents and carers can share their experiences and develop stronger friendship networks, helping them feel more supported in the challenges that they’re facing.

Family Activity Days

Over the last 18 months our team has run Visit Days and activity sessions for a number of amazing organisations and community groups.

Thanks to Sight Concern Worcestershire, Dines Green’s Community Builder, University of Worcester and Worcester Special Mums for partnering with us in supporting local families.

Families have had fun meeting and learning more about our animals, making their own artwork using flowers and natural decorations collected from around the farm, going on nature walks, listening to the birds and eating wild blackberries!
