An area of the Bonterre site, is set aside for children or groups to grow food for. Children are given ownership and responsibility and support in designing, building, tending and harvesting crops that we use in our cooking or sometimes sell in the Harvest Shop.
For older pupils, Bonterre provides training in recognised horticultural and floristry qualifications that can help them when then enter the world of work. Typically, high school students spend 2-4 hours per week at the farm working alongside staff in purposeful activities that count towards ABC awards in these subjects.
